‘Kawai Pianos’

Kawai Upright Piano

If you’re looking for quality, dedication, and good value for money when shopping for a piano, Kawai upright pianos offer the right combination of these qualities plus a lot more. Kawai is a brand name in its own right, having built over 2.4 million pianos for musicians world-wide, from the smallest 110cm Kawai upright piano to the 125cm professional model.

All Kawai uprights have been designed with a grand piano sound in mind, making their users experience real joy in piano playing. Kawai has become the preferred choice among institutions of learning, leading music venues, and international piano competitions. It is the piano of choice for world class musicians such as Alex Allessandroni, Stephen Curtis Chapman, and Carol Connors.  Kawai has two distinguished owners. In the USA, it is owned by Kawai America Corporation, while in CANADA, it is owned by Kawai Canada Music.

Kawai upright Pianos have a rich history. The founder of the brand, Koichi Kawai was born in 1886. His next door neighbor was Torakusu Yamaha. While working for Yamaha, Kawai helped design one of the earliest pianos ever made in Japan when he was only twelve years old. Kawai gained wide experience while he was working for Yamaha, which eventually saw him establish his own company known as Kawai Musical Instrument Research Laboratory in 1927. By 1928, Kawai had produced the first keyboard actions ever to be exclusively designed and assembled in Japan. He manufactured his first grand piano in 1929. Kawai was finally laid to rest in 1955.

Kawai upright pianos are manufactured using the world’s most advanced actions. All Kawai uprights are designed with an ultra-responsive, direct-blow action that delivers outstanding feel and touch to piano lovers. The soundboard and ribs are designed using top-quality, straight grained dapper that ensures superb lively range and exceptional tone across the whole spectrum of sound. The harp or plates of Kawai upright pianos are constructed to the most accurate specifications, factoring in the natural resonance, to guarantee exceptional acoustical performance. All top-of-the-range Kawai upright pianos utilize hard Rock Maple in bridge construction to ensure proper transmission of vibrations from the strings to the soundboard. The bridges are then carefully notched up to eradicate “wild strings” buzzing. What’s more! The powerful, multi-layered assembly of the back posts of a Kawai upright ensures outstanding structural integrity and superior tuning stability for years of consistent performance. The pin blocks and the keys are also of superior quality. To cap it all, Kawai upright comes with a twelve year transferable warranty on all of its pianos to protect the value of user investment.

For piano enthusiasts, Kawai upright pianos came in many different sizes, quality designs, appearance, and cost. An important point to remember is that larger Kawai uprights produce superior quality sound than the smaller models. The big-time offers of Kawai upright pianos in the market today include: K Series Professional Upright Pianos; K-15 Continental Console; 907 Designer Studio Pianos; 508 Designer Console Pianos; 506 Institutional Pianos; UST-9 Institutional Pianos; and PR-1 Acoustic Piano Recording System.
